Graduway is the global leading provider of an engagement platform for organization’s communities, mainly for higher education.
The message from Sales was that competitors are slicing the company's revenue by having a mentoring solution.
To prevent radical churn we realized mentoring was a burning matter, so PM’s and Design initiated discovery sessions around the topic
Build an intuitive and easy-to-use mentoring solution that an organization can run for its' constituents, that fosters networking and connections between users while strengthening the relationship and engagement with the organization.
Design lead and hands-on
Directed 1 Product Designers

Set process, flow and architecture hierarchy
Directed and played a hands-on part on UI and visuals
Conducted client interviews figuring true needs and opportunities
We made few discovery calls with clients to understand how they currently use mentorship and figuring out their needs. We found that:
Managers are currently using Sheets and Excel for matching mentors to mentees
They would love to automate this process for bulk matches, but appreciate the control they have for individual matching
Mentoring sessions have seasons (spring, autumn etc.)
They separate mentoring sheets by subjects (Sports, Finance, Career Etc.)
They lose track of mentoring relationships and can’t tell when it’s “real”
There’s a need for their specific CRM integration
We then ran a rapid Design Thinking sprint session with Product, Customer Success, and Design, facilitated by me, to clarify the customer's needs and ideate profound solutions.
The session was divided to 4 sections:
Client's quotes
Customer + Client needs
"How Might We" questions
Ideation
It took 3 iterations between Design, Product, clients and Business to come up with a comprehensive solution that got an overwhelmingly positive feedback from clients and got us to push towards hi-fi wireframes
Say hello to Mentoring Programs - a place where system admins can set, customize, manage, and analyze mentorships in batches
